Someone Special is Seven Today!

Carly, this is River singing Happy Birthday to You!

Carly with her beloved and greatly missed Grandpa. This was one occasion that fostered her love of horses!

Jumping, playful, sassy, loves horses, smiley, helpful, informative, loving. All of these wonderful adjectives describe our precious Granddaughter Carly!
Today this darling little girl is seven. I remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday. How come the time flies by so quickly? It scares me to think the time is slipping away and that all too soon our little Miss will be in high school, going to post-secondary, moving up and out of her home. So in the meantime, I for one am going to enjoy my Carly Adventures. This brown-eyed beauty will steal your heart away with one laugh, one look, one gesture. Pappa and I love you very, very much Carly.

Have a Very Happy 7th Birthday!

Same, Same, Only Different

Yesterday our daughter Cathy posted some pictures in honour of our grandson, her son's 10th Birthday. One of them reminded me so much of one taken about 35 years ago. In my mind's eye, they were identical, but in actuality not quite so much. Hence, the title, same, same only different.

Cathy and her baby sis, April. Cathy had just awoken from her nap. Don't you dig the little pink plastic pants?

Claire, Carly and Cameron. Cameron would be just a wee bit older in this picture, than his mother was above.
Both pictures are adorable as far as this proud mommy slash nanny is concerned. Where has the time gone?

Double Digits!

Today is our Grandson Cameron's 10th Birthday!
I remember just like it was yesterday, the early morning call from Cathy saying "my water broke". My beloved and I were too excited to go back to sleep and we ended up walking the streets of Richmond on that cool and thundery morning! Today he is officially a decade old. Double digits! Wow.

What a fine young man he is growing up to be. Creative. Jokey. Informative. Gentle. Loving. His parents have done a wonderful job, instilling in him all that they can on how to be a caring and generous spirit. Our world is so much richer. I cannot imagine a life without him in it.

Cameron, Nanny and Pappa love you very much! If the first 10 years are any indication of who you have grown to be, we can't wait to see what the next 10 brings!
Have a very Happy Birthday sweet boy.
All our love,
Nanny and Pappa
